He was also motivated to explore new territory that had been purchased by the U.S. through the Louisiana purchase. Jefferson chose Meriwether Lewis to lead the expedition and Lewis, in turn, asked William Clark to be his co-leader. The journey was anything but easy. It was perilous and fraught with challenges but on December 5, 1805, Lewis & Clark reached the Pacific Ocean. The route they established to gain access to the unexplored territory was a result of the team’s relentless pursuit of new frontiers and dedication to the mission. They had the courage to go forward even though the odds were against them. These qualities are not uniquely American but they do embody the spirit of our great country and at LED Trail, we closely identify with them. As a Portland, Oregon based company, the name LED Trail was born out of an admiration for the spirit of these Americans who bore unbelievable hardship and sacrificed so much based on a vision of the future for the generations that would follow. Our decision to manufacture LED lights is inspired by a passion and knowledge of the LED lighting business and a dedication to the land we inhabit and the future generations who will inherit it. The independent and trailblazing spirit of the explorers inspires us to move forward as we look for ways to meld lighting technology with environmental consciousness and since LEDs are the leading environmentally friendly lighting product, we are in for the long haul, just like Lewis & Clark. Happy 4th of July and remember, even your choice of lighting solutions has an impact on this land we celebrate!
